Leadbetter's book almost ready for sale on www.amazon.com

Since August 22, 2014, attorney Ron Leadbetter and I have been working on his book "Big Orange, Black Storm Clouds, and More" a history of the University of Tennessee. Ron was hired as the first law clerk at UT in 1971. Since that time he worked in the General Counsel's Office. During his career, he kept detailed notes of cases you will remember hearing about in the news. His book gives a behind-the-scenes look at how things work at a major university.

The book contains 128 chapters. Some of the chapter headings are:

BOB--the Big Orange Boar--how did a Russian boar almost become a mascot for the men's basketball team?
A Pot of Money--Birth of UT Licensing
Elvis Presley and His UT Defense
Phone Fraud Episode
Dumb, Screwy or Just Plain Weird Cases
Pamela Reed Enters the Picture
The Shumaker Presidency
The Bruce Pearl Tragedy: Who Dropped the Ball?

For these and more be sure to buy your copy soon.

Martha Woodward will be one of the 3 presenters for the Young Authors' Conference on Valentine's Day for the Etowah Arts Commission. She will speak on the topic of "Finding Writers Everywhere." She will also share the 3 children's books she has authored: "Watermelon for Everyone," "No Spitting Watermelon Seeds," and "Something Spooky Going On At the Sunsphere."

Etowah Arts Commission to Host Young Authors' Conference Feb. 14 8 until noon

The 23rd Annual Young Authors' Conference will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015, from 8:00am - Noon at Mountain View Elementary School in Etowah, TN (McMinn County). Children from local elementary and middle schools are invited to come and interact with some of their favorite authors and illustrators who share their love of the literary arts. Presentations for kids are age-appropriate and engaging, and books can be signed by the presenters at the event. Parents and siblings are welcome to join and stay for the event, too, but must also pay a registration fee of $5 per person. T-Shirts commemorating the event are available for purchase (via registration form), for $10 each (T-Shirts are not available for sale day of event). Pre-registration will be available via printing a registration form from website, and forms will also be distributed to area schools. You may contact the office of the Etowah Arts Commission at director@etowaharts.org to have a registration form e-mailed to you. Books by the authors/illustrators, as well as blank books for your "budding" writer will be available for purchase on the day of event (cash, check, or CC). Funding for the conference is sponsored in part by the Tennessee Arts Commission.

Big Orange, Black Storm Clouds and More--New Book by Ron Leadbetter

New book I have been editing since August for local attorney, Ron Leadbetter. Ron worked in the office of the General Counsel at the University of Tennessee for over 30 years and has written about his varied experiences and many of the most famous cases---some you have heard of and some not.
