Barrett uses the technique of "raised beds" gardens
Since we live inside the city limits, Barrett uses space in our backyard for gardens by making raised beds out of planks, wire, and soil. He builds a rectangular section, puts wire around it, and fills with new top soil. He plants and waters until he sees the results of his efforts.
We have enjoyed cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, okra, zucchini, yellow crooked-neck squash, snap peas, beans, and corn.
