Makes me
hungry just thumbing through the pages of this delightful book. Watermelon is
for everyone. Rarely does anybody say they do not just love
watermelon. Thanks to Martha and Patricia for producing something positive and sweet in a world torn with too much negativity. You can certainly tell a school teacher had something to do with this book. It is well-organized, has fun activities for students of all ages and it teaches us a thing or two about watermelon. I especially enjoyed making Watermelon Lemonade--what a great treat!

Woodward
said that when she was working on this book, she wanted it to be something that
could be used as a teaching tool by parents and teachers. She met this goal and
more as this book begins with colorful photos of the various kinds of
watermelons and takes children through the life cycle of watermelon as it goes
from tiny seeds to plants that develop into something wonderful to
eat."Watermelon for Everyone" contains 36 pages and is divided into 3 sections: Section One is the basic manuscript of the book that gives facts and information about watermelon. Section Two contains non-cook recipes for fun things the family can do together. Section Three contains lesson plans written many years ago by Woodward and used in her classrooms. Martha says she knows the lesson plans work really well since she used them year after year with hundreds of children. This book will make a lovely gift for that special person.

Angels Eat . . .,
This

Mark Twain
once said, "When one has tasted watermelon he knows what the angels eat." It is
true and after reading "Watermelon for Everyone", it is easy to understand why.
In this delightful book, Martha Woodward lovingly shares all kinds of useful and
entertaining information about all aspects of the watermelon. What a joyful
read. Like the watermelon, this book is for everyone.
