After being awarded primary custody of his two minor sons, Jason Eric McLean returned to court in Knoxville, Tennessee today, March 27, 2009 seeking child support from his former wife, Erin Meyers McLean, who currently lives in Austin, Texas.
Erin did not show up for court, but she did send evidence showing her income which was shown to be $25,000 using W-2 forms obtained from her former attorney, Brandy Slaybaugh.
In another bomb shell, which is what court watchers have come to expect in this case, Slaybaugh sent a message via attorney Steve Sharp that she "no longer represents Erin McLean in this matter." Slaybaugh also said that she "didn't want to get sucked back into the case".
Judge Brenda Lindsay-McDaniel ordered the mom, Erin McLean, to pay Eric $581 per month in child support for the two sons.
McLean paused for a few minutes to comment that he and his sons were doing better. "Things are getting better," and "The boys are having a ball."
Attorney Sharp commented, "And that is what we wanted all along."
Eric McLean is serving a probation period of 12 years; his case is on appeal.
