More Quilt Tops For Lutheran World Relief Project
Used various pieces of fabric I've had around for years. A friend is a member of a group that makes quilts for needy people around the world. I've enjoyed supporting their efforts. Also providing the backings with new mauve colored sheets I bought for $.41 cents each. There are other volunteers who add the batting and string-tie the quilts.

East Tennessee Plant Swap October 9, 2021 New Harvest Park
Everyone is invited to the Fall 2021 East Tennessee Plant Swap.
It will be held at
New Harvest Park
4775 New Harvest Lane, Knoxville, TN 37918
on Saturday, October 9, 2021
The swap is a time when avid gardeners gather to trade plants and share friendship.
Anyone who is interested needs to view the web site and read the FAQs. There is no
fee to join the group, but we rent the shelter so everyone is asked to toss a few
dollars in the can.
You do not have to bring plants to swap. You can bring books, magazines, pots, jewelry,
bags, boxes, baskets, or anything related to gardening.
If you sign in on the web site, you can list the kinds of plants you are looking for
and ask for the kinds you want. This is not required.
The swap starts at 10:00am
(No exchanges before that, please!)
Finger foods and easy-to-eat things are welcome for the potluck lunch
Donating Books to a Friend's Class
One of the projects I have enjoyed over the years i donating books to students in schools. I have a dear friend who has a child in a local school. I decided to donate 3 books to each child in the grade over for this student. I shopped at thrift stores and found great deals and had some managers who also made great deals for me. I hauled 248 books--3 each for 80 students this week. I hope to provide more as the year moves forward. It is unbelieveable just what great books can be purchased for 25 cents each. I made one photo and the battery in my camera died; oh well, at least I got one photo of a couple of the boxes. More later.
Quilt from an Auction...Purchased for me by a dear friend
A dear friend spotted this quilt in an on-line auction and bought it for me for $10 (I paid her). She thought I would want to sell it in my Poshmark store, but I love it so much I an using it on my bed. What a great friend!!!
Puppy News
Spartacus came to live with us on July 12, 2021. Today is September 17, 2021. He weigned just over 7 pounds when he arrived. He now weighs 25 pounds. He is a lively, happy, busy boy. Our other dogs, Buddy and Pumpkin, adore him. They play games all day until they get so tired they fall over in the floor asleep. I spent the first 3 weeks with Spartacus training him to potty in the yard and not in the house. I took him outside and told him to pee and poop every 45 minutes all day and most of the night. He has done a great job and only had 2 poopy accidens and 3 pee pee ones, but only when the rain is so heavy he is afraid to go outside. He is very smart and has brought joy and laughter to our home. So happy we got him. He is a pound puppy.
